is included in the art of speaking and reading; this again requires practical help from a good teacher.
The combined efforts of scientists have done much in the past to elucidate the hidden mysteries connected with voice, and as new paths of investigation are opened out there is a rapid exit of fads, secrets, and tricks of the charlatan. Anatomists, physiologists, hygienists, throat specialists, voice-producers, phoneticians, physicists, and even pathologists and chemists have special lines of original research still waiting investigation in connection with the voice. For further information on phonetics the reader is reĀferred to The Science of Speech, by Mr. Benjamin Dumville, M.A., F.C.P., which will shortly be published by the University Tutorial Press.
